While Anglia Ruskin's roots date back to 1858, when Cambridge School of Art opened its doors, we're more interested in people's futures.
Today, we're one of the largest universities in the East of England, with more than 35,000 students studying at every level: from undergraduate to postgraduate, research degrees to distance learning. As well as our current students, we have 85,000 alumni in 150 countries around the world.
You'll find us in three vibrant cities - Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough - with opportunities to study elsewhere too. We’ve invested £122 million in our campuses over the last five years, and our students benefit from outstanding facilities including cutting-edge medical simulation suites, TV and film studios, forensic science labs, a purpose-built music centre, full-size professional theatre, and mock hospital wards.
As well as training many of our region's nurses and midwives, we offer a huge range of courses - from art, language and linguistics through to engineering, life sciences, and computing and technology. Many of our courses are professionally accredited.
Each year, we also help some 2,000 businesses to grow quicker with help from our student interns. And our six research institutes tackle pressing issues such as saving lives and conserving natural resources.
We pride ourselves on being enterprising and innovative, and nurture those qualities in our students. We were delighted to be named UK Entrepreneurial University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards in November 2014.
That enterprising spirit, and our sheer can-do attitude, set us apart. The results speak for themselves: 9 out of 10 of our graduates start their careers within the first six months.*
